🌿 The Deer That Found Me

This painting began after a spring walk through Killenthomas Woods in Rathangan, Co. Kildare, bluebells in full bloom, kids and dogs running ahead, and light filtering through the trees.

Back in the studio, I started painting from memory, no plan, just feeling.

Then I noticed a shape in the brushstrokes… a deer, peeking out from behind a tree.

I hadn’t meant to paint it, but it was there.

It felt like the painting had chosen it, not me.
